To register as a new user click ‘My Account’ in the top right of the screen, then click ‘Register’.
Submit a few details and our system will then send you an email to verify that the email is legitimate.
If you cannot find your confirmation email, please check your junk and spam folders. If you do not receive your confirmation email, please use our 'Contact us' form.
Sign in by clicking ‘My Account’ in the top right of the screen, then click 'Sign In'. In the next screen enter the email address and password that you used to register.
Some browsers ‘autocomplete’ these boxes if you have used them before. If you have problems, ensure the information in both boxes is correct.
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it. To do this, click on the 'I have forgotten my password' section of the sign in screen:

A saved search is an alert that will let you know when adverts you are interested are added to the website.
Enter a name for your search, then click ‘Save this search’. You don't have to be signed in to save a search for the browser session, but to save it to your account, for use later and to get email updates, just sign.

There are no additional charges when you successfully complete a sale.
To place an advert, you can either click on Sell Items or Sell Motors in the top right of the screen, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Please ensure you fill in all required fields, which are marked with a green asterisk *.
If you do not have an account, you will be invited to create one as part of this process.
Adverts run for two weeks or five weeks.
You can renew your advert by clicking on ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page, then ‘My Adverts’. The option to renew your ad is the green button to the right of your advert heading, shaped like a recycle icon. The process allows you to edit the advert before confirming the renewal.
You can edit your advert at any time by clicking on ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page, then ‘My Adverts’. The option to edit your advert is the blue pencil button to the left of your advert heading.
If you wish to delete your advert, you can do this at any time by clicking on ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page, then ‘My Adverts’. The option to delete your advert is the red ‘x’ button on the left of your advert heading.
You can see how many page views and calls you have had by clicking on ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page, then ‘My Adverts’. The option to see the statistics on your advert is the blue graph button on the left of your advert heading.
Emails from interested buyers will be sent to the registered email address on your account. If you cannot find it in your inbox, please check your Junk and Spam folders. If it has not appeared, the email may have been from a scammer and been deleted by our Customer Support Team in order to protect your selling experience from unscrupulous behaviour.
The location of your advert is determined by the postcode in your profile. You can amend this by clicking ‘My Account’ in the top right of the page, and then ‘My Profile’ on the left panel.
If someone approaches you to purchase something you are selling and it seems suspicious, we advise you not to go ahead with the sale. A sale should only take place when both parties are entirely comfortable with the arrangement. Furthermore, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Behaviour that you should see as suspicious may include, but is not limited to:
Do not part with your vehicle until the funds are entirely in your possession.
Suspicious behaviour can be reported to the Police using their Action Fraud website.
A sale should only take place when both parties are entirely comfortable with the arrangement. We urge you not to part with any of your money unless you are confident that the sale is entirely legitimate. If something seems too good to be true, there is a high chance it is.
S1 Cars recommends that transactions take place in person, in cash, once the vehicle has been inspected by the buyer.
Do not part with your money until the vehicle is entirely in your possession.
Most people are honest. It is a quality that allows businesses and individuals to trade successfully. However, there are some unscrupulous characters who do not value honesty as an important characteristic.
If you have been the victim of a scam, please contact the police on the national police non-emergency number, which is 101.
If the transaction did not take place in cash, please immediately contact your bank.
If you would like to raise a concern regarding a trade seller, you may contact Trading Standards.
We would also be very obliged if you could please inform our Customer Support team take the appropriate action against the user involved.

Have you been canvassed by a company claiming your car is advertised too cheaply, that they have customers waiting to buy your car and for a fixed fee they will match you with a buyer willing to pay a higher price by the end of the day?
We understand from our customers these companies use an aggressive selling technique to try and push sellers into purchasing their service and handing over credit card details.
We have been advised that very often if the seller takes up the offer, they will receive no further communication from the company, will hit a brick wall when calling the company back and receive no return on their initial investment.
